President Donald Trump of the United States has sparked much discussion by sending a video message to Cristiano Ronaldo, in which he lauded him as the greatest of all time.

After Ronaldo visited Trump’s Oval Office in November as part of a Saudi Arabian delegation, the video was released.

Trump posted a video on his TikTok account, dubbing the Al-Nassr player the greatest footballer of all time and inviting him to come to the USA.

Following the video, an AI-generated clip depicted Trump and Ronaldo playing a casual game of football in the President’s office.

“Cristiano Ronaldo, you’re the best ever, we need you to come to America,” Trump said. “Start moving right away, we need you quickly,” Donald Trump added.

Trump has been prominent in football news lately, having attended the FIFA Club World Cup final match last summer where Chelsea faced Paris Saint-Germain (PSG).

Before the World Cup draw last year, he was awarded the inaugural FIFA Peace Prize by President Gianni Infantino.

Trump could be signaling to Cristiano Ronaldo, motivating the 41-year-old to re-enter competition against his longtime rival, Lionel Messi, in the MLS.

In the past few weeks, this option was discussed when the Al-Nassr player declined to participate in a game, as he was protesting against what he perceived as inadequate management of his team by the Saudi Public Investment Fund (PIF).

Last November, Ronaldo visited the Oval Office for the first time since he played in the United States while with Real Madrid in 2014, where he faced Manchester United in a pre-season match before 109,318 spectators.
