Weinman Foundation Donates $4.3 Million to Navian Hawaii

Navian Hawaii, a nonprofit hospice and palliative care provider in Honolulu, has received a generous gift of $4.3 million from the Weinman Foundation. The donation will support the expansion of Navian Hawaii’s residential care services, enabling the organization to provide more patients with a home-like environment.

The Weinman Foundation, established by the late Barry and Virginia Weinman, has a personal connection to Navian Hawaii. Virginia Weinman received hospice care from the organization before her passing in 2023. Her husband, Barry Weinman, was deeply moved by the care she received and later passed away in 2024

“At Navian Hawaii, we believe that every person deserves dignity, comfort, and peace in their final days,” said Dan Haire, president of Navian Hawaii. “The Weinman Foundation’s generosity will allow us to grow our in-patient presence, ensuring that even those who cannot remain in their own homes receive compassionate, high-quality care in a setting that feels like home.”

The funding will support the expansion of Navian Hawaii’s facilities, providing more patients with access to residential care services. The organization currently provides hospice and palliative care for patients at home, in nursing homes, and at its dedicated in-patient hospice, Kailua Home.
