Dolapo Olupona, a housewife from Ogun State, claims that Taiwo Ogunrombi, her husband, a Police officer, physically beats her whenever she declines his advances for sex. She has suffered severe bruises and emotional pain as a result of this violent behavior.

During a trip to Lagos State nine years ago, Dolapo first met Taiwo. They had a happy relationship at first, but Taiwo’s incessant sexual demands and violent reactions when she refused made it into a nightmare.

After Dolapo refused his repeated requests for sexual contact, Taiwo, a senior officer with the Lagos Mobile Police, allegedly beat her at their Sango-Ota, Ogun State, home. Dolapo, a mother and professional fashion designer, has been deeply impacted by these events and has called her husband’s behavior cruel and heartless.

Dolapo talked about her experience, saying that although their relationship began well, she quickly realized how forceful he was. She asserted that he does not support her career and that his increased sexual drive is a result of the herbal drinks he drinks. He acts angrily anytime he thinks she is working or interacting with other guys, rather than supporting her as a fashion designer.

She described a particular instance on October 24 in which he beat her with his fists and a belt after she refused to comply with his demand for three rounds of intercourse. Neighbors stepped in when she tried to get assistance, but the abuse persisted. She is devastated and feels trapped as a result of this continuous abuse.

In a report from The Nation, Dolapo said, “When I rejected his demand for three rounds of lovemaking, he descended on me with fists and a belt.“
