‘Why I don’t believe in monogamy’ – Kanayo O Kanayo

Kanayo O. Kanayo, a seasoned Nollywood actor, has expressed his thoughts on monogamy.

Speaking on the recent podcast episode “The Honest Bunch,” Kanayo stated that he is against monogamy because it is not part of African culture.

The movie actor underlined that monogamy was an alien culture and expressed support for polygamy.

“I don’t believe in one wife. It is not our culture. It is not our tradition. It is not who we are. These are imported things,” he expressed.

Kanayo stated that he had no idea what divorce was before moving from the South East to Lagos.

He claims that an Igbo man would rather die in marriage than go through a divorce.

“I never knew anything about divorce until we came to Lagos. The Igbo man prefers to die in the marriage than divorcing,” he said.

It is widely known that the actor is married to one wife, Nneka Onyekwere.
