Yemisi Adenekan, better known by her stage as Iya Tinko, is a well-known Nollywood actress. She has talked about how her marriage to her disabled ex-husband ended and why she regrets not following her mother’s advice.

In an interview, she revealed in a video that was uploaded to Jeff Owolewa TV’s official YouTube channel that her mother had advised her not to wed the disabled man she was seeing, but she disregarded her mother’s advice and later felt regret for it.

According to Iya Tinko, she said, “My ex-husband didn’t break up with me because of my profession, his mother was the one who caused our break up. My mom warned me not to marry a disabled man, but I ignored my mom’s advice. I once had an accident, and the doctor said my legs would be amputated, but I later found a solution, and my legs weren’t amputated.“

“I insisted on marrying the disabled man because I thought, what if my legs were also amputated? I married a disabled man out of pity, I had 3 kids for him, but I regretted marrying him. His mother didn’t allow us to have peace in the marriage, and we had to break up with each other.“
