The Nollywood actress Damipe Adekoya has described the shocking and fear-inducing instant her devout Christian in-laws discovered she was expecting a baby with their son, a detail her spouse had not conveyed to them adequately.​

She clarified that the pregnancy was a huge scandal due to both families’ significant roles in church leadership—her parents as pastors and his as deacons.

She thought her husband had already informed his parents, so she went to their home to assist with chores—only to see an unexpected, intense response.​

The actress disclosed that her husband had broken the news to his parents while she was present in their living room, resulting in a furious confrontation that left her utterly terrified.

Damipe Adekoya said: “My husband too did not tell his parents because his parents were deacons. I told him he should tell his parents so they could come and beg my parents. He told me he had told them. So this particular day, his mom said we should come. I was sweeping and cleaning.

“Normally I expected mommy to say something, but she didn’t. Then his daddy just drove out in anger. Little did I know that they did not know anything. It was when I was right there that he told them. They were furious. They said so many things, and after I left their house, I was so scared.”
