A prominent figure within the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), Bode George, has stated that the party’s upcoming National Executive Council (NEC) meeting will take firm action against anyone discovered to be undermining the party’s interests.

He also emphasized that the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory, Nyesom Wike, does not have ownership over the PDP. George asserted that the party is not structured like the All Progressives Congress (APC), which he alleged is controlled by a single individual.

George made these remarks during an appearance on the Morning Show programme aired by Arise Television on Thursday.

His comments come at a time when uncertainty surrounds the PDP ahead of its 100th NEC meeting scheduled for Monday, June 30, 2025.

The PDP’s National Working Committee (NWC) has rejected rumors suggesting the NEC meeting had been delayed.

It also refuted claims that Senator Samuel Anyanwu was reinstated as National Secretary, contradicting statements made by Acting National Chairman Ambassador Umar Damagum during a Wednesday press briefing.

Meanwhile, George dismissed suggestions that Wike holds overwhelming influence in the ongoing internal issues within the PDP.

He said: “Nyesom Wike does not own the PDP; he joined the party just like everybody else did. If you think it’s only because of his money that he remains a member of the party, wait until the NEC meeting where decisive actions will be taken on all those who have committed a ‘hara-kiri.’”
