Wike most devoted, loyal party member – PDP

Nyesom Wike, the Minister of the Federal Capital Territory (FCT), has been hailed by the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP) as one of the most faithful and committed party members in history.

Speaking at a book launch in Wike’s honour was Taofeek Arapaja, the PDP’s Deputy National Chairman (South).

He underlined that Wike still receives respect and admiration in spite of internal party issues, such as those who have a “entitlement mentality.”

He said: “Our mentor and principal, who has never left the PDP for a day, is one of the most committed and loyal party leaders we have ever had. He has done well, he is doing well, and we wish him well in all his future endeavours.”

Arapaja highlighted Wike’s leadership position in the G5 group and his unwavering support for other party members, praising his unwavering advocacy for equity, justice, and fairness.

He affirmed Wike’s honesty and commitment by contrasting this with other leaders who simply approached the party for assistance.

“We know you, and we always love and appreciate you. Some people believe in entitlement mentality, but we will always stand by you because you are a man of integrity, honour, and a performer,” Arapaja remarked.

Additionally, the PDP official addressed recent criticism of the party from Senate President Godswill Akpabio.

Disappointed by Akpabio’s disparaging comments, Arapaja noted that the Senate President, a former PDP governor of Akwa Ibom State, owes a large portion of his political career to the party.

“The foundation of all political parties is the PDP. I am surprised when someone who is a product of the PDP speaks negatively about it,” he said.

“Nobody can dispute the fact that the present Senate President performed during his tenure as governor under the PDP,” Arapaja added, acknowledging Akpabio’s performance as governor under the party.
