Two weeks prior to the wedding, a Nigerian woman called off her engagement after seeing a troubling Facebook comment made by her fiancé.

The woman discovered a viral post about a man who killed his wife over a food-related issue, according to the story, which has been making waves on TikTok. She looked at the comments out of curiosity and was surprised to see her fiancé defending the man wholeheartedly, saying that “women don’t know their limits.”

Disturbed by his behavior, she made the decision to call off the wedding, stop communicating with him, and ban him from all social media. She resisted his attempts to contact her through pals, telling others to carefully monitor their spouses’ social media activities.

Her viral post reads:

“I called off my wedding two months before the day because of my fiancé’s comment on a post.”

“I was scared that I truly didn’t know the man I was about to marry. The post was about a man who took his wife’s life over food. Out of curiosity, I checked the comments and saw my fiancé supporting the man, saying women don’t know their limits. If he could make such a statement, what would he do to me?”

“I immediately canceled the wedding, blocked him everywhere, and told my friends to do the same. He kept reaching out, but I refused to engage.”

“Please, always check your partner’s social media—you might be shocked by what you find. I ran for my life.”
