‘Your pain is my pain’ — MI Abaga speaks out on Benue killings

Nigerian hip-hop artist and record label executive, Jude Abaga, popularly known as MI, has voiced his anguish over the ongoing wave of violence in Benue State. He expressed empathy for the affected communities and emphasized the need to put an end to the bloodshed.

Taking to X on Monday, MI wrote, “My heart is heavy. It grieves me deeply to see so much of the Middle Belt bleed. The recent killings in Benue are not just statistics, they are our people, our families, our communities being torn apart.”

He continued, “I stand in solidarity with my brothers and sisters in Benue. Your pain is my pain. We can’t normalise this cycle of violence that has plagued our land for too long. To those we’ve lost: we will not forget you. To those still standing, we stand with you.”

MI further urged authorities to carry out a thorough and open investigation into the recent attacks. He also advocated for increased security in areas that remain vulnerable to such incidents.
