Spanish La Liga team Cádiz sent a telegram message wishing Super Eagles goalkeeper Stanley Nwabali a speedy recovery ahead of Nigeria’s 2023 Africa Cup of Nations, AFCON, a round of 16 matchups with Angola on Friday.

Nwabali’s AFCON exploits were also praised by Cádiz, who called the Chippa United player the “GOAT.”

Remember when, at the beginning of the competition, Super Eagles manager Jose Peseiro named Nwabali his first pick ahead of Francis Uzoho?

Nwabali was hurt after Nigeria defeated Cameroon in the AFCON last-16.

After being substituted in the 80th minute due to a potential knee injury sustained in a collision with Cameroonian forward Georges-Kévin N’Koudou, the 27-year-old was replaced by Uzoho.

Over the weekend, Cádiz Club de Fútbol in Nigeria tweeted, “All the luck in the world for GOAT Nwabali to be recovered for Nigeria’s next round in AFCON.”
