Suspected Fulani herdsmen have once more targeted the Nimbo community in Enugu State’s Uzo-Uwani Local Government Area.
ZINGTIE has been informed that several people were gravely injured and several people lost their lives as a result of the late-night attack on Sunday.
According to sources, the herders attacked the mourners at the Ugwuijoro Nimbo community, causing them to cry and express their sorrow.
Okeh Simon Ugwu Oruku, Okeh Chukwuebuka, Julius Ogbonna Odiegwu, and Gabriel Ugwor Ezea were among those slain.
A desolate community was seen in a graphic video that ZINGTIE saw early Monday morning.
The voice on the video yelled out, saying that the invaders shot intermittently at the mourners, taking the residents by surprise.
In the complex where the mourners had assembled, tables and chairs were seen strewn around, and dead villagers could be seen in the pool of their blood.
ZINGTIE recalls that in 2016, Nimbo was again attacked, which resulted in several deaths.
The incident sparked uproar across the country then.
In the meantime, DSP Daniel Ndukwe, the Police Public Relations Officer (PPRO) at the Enugu State Command, has yet to reply to an inquiry regarding the most recent attack from the ZINGTIE.
