The proclamation of a state of emergency in Rivers State sparked a furious dispute among certain House of Representatives members.

According to reports, the event happened on Wednesday during its plenary session.

AIT News posted a video of the incident online on Wednesday, which ZINGTIE saw.

Recall that Rivers State was placed under a state of emergency by President Bola Tinubu on Tuesday evening.

In a national broadcast, the president made the announcement.

The National Assembly must, however, review the President’s gazetted proclamation within 48 hours if it is in session and within 10 days if it is in break, according to the Constitution.

The National Assembly will vote against the proclamation if it is deemed invalid. The declaration must be approved or rejected by a two-thirds majority of both the Senate and the House of Representatives.
