Unknown gunmen are said to have killed two troops on Thursday while executing the sit-at-home directive.
Around fifteen masked gunmen ambushed the military soldiers at Obikabia crossroads in Aba, Abia State, and set fire to their patrol van.
The attackers can be seen intermittently shooting in a viral video before burning the military van on fire.
Later on, a soldier was seen emerging, according to ZIINGTIE, and a speaker over the camera lamented the fact that “it seems like he is the only one who survived; others have been killed.”
The gunmen used a Sienna and an SUV vehicle for their operations.
As of the time this report was filed, neither the Abia State Police Command nor the Military had commented on the incident that had been reported.
Following the announcement by Biafra agitators of a sit-at-home in remembrance of those who lost their lives in the Civil War, the South-East is currently under lockdown.
Most people in the five states where our reporters are stationed are inside because they are afraid of being assaulted by non-state entities.
