Ayegbusi Ojo has been condemned to life in prison by a High Court located in Ado-Ekiti, Ekiti State, for the rape of a juvenile.
On Wednesday, Ojo was found guilty and given a sentence on a single count of raping a fifteen-year-old girl by Justice J.O. Adeyeye.
The offender approached the victim as she was leaving school, luring her into his room with the intention of having sex with her.
The girl fell at home, bleeding from her privates, and her father discovered that she had not told anybody about her trauma.
The prisoner was apprehended and charged in court after being taken to the hospital in an ambulance.
According to Section 31(2) of the Child’s Rights Law Cap C7 Laws of Ekiti State 2012, Ojo was accused of rape.
Julius Ajibare, the director of public prosecutions for Ekiti State, called five witnesses and submitted three exhibits to back up his claims.
The prosecution has proven the defendant’s sexual charge beyond a reasonable doubt, the judge said.
As a result, he found the defendant guilty and gave him a life sentence.
