Aliko Dangote, a Nigerian business magnate, is still the wealthiest person in Africa.
In addition, Dangote is listed as the 65th richest person in the world.
According to Bloomberg’s most recent Top 500 Billionaires Index, which was made public on Thursday, Dangote, who currently has a net worth of $28 billion, saw a considerable gain in wealth following the start of operations of his recently constructed petrochemical refinery, which is estimated to be worth over $20 billion.
The popular businessman has never been ranked higher than this new one.
In 2022, he was previously rated 83rd.
No African comes close to Dangote’s most recent rating; South Africa’s Johann Rupert is ranked 174th on the global list with a $13.6 billion fortune, and Nicky Oppenheimer is ranked 224th with a wealth of $11.6bn.
Other Africans on the list include Natie Karsh of South Africa, who is ranked 297th in the world with a $9.25 billion fortune, Nassef Sawiris of Egypt, who is ranked 302th with a $9.16 billion fortune, and Naguib Sawiris of Egypt, who is ranked 407th with a $7.37 billion fortune.
The richest people in the world are Elon Musk and Jeff Bezos, who have $242 billion and $210 billion in their cats, respectively. Mark Zuckerberg and Larry Ellison, who have $204 billion and $185 billion, respectively, are next on the list of billionaires.
