In a recent video on YouTube, Bishop David Oyedepo, founder of Living Faith Church Worldwide, recently delivered a remarkable perspective on the power of prophetic statements and their fulfillment, using the success of Covenant University as an example. Speaking at a ceremony, Bishop Oyedepo remembered how, long before the institution was even conceived, he had boldly declared its founding and compared it to Harvard University.

We are living in “highly prophetic days,” Bishop Oyedepo underlined, noting other instances of divine promises coming to fulfilment. He recalled a stirring statement he had made years earlier at a gathering in Kaduna, in which he predicted that one day a Nigerian president would stand on the altar of the church and declare,“Praise the Lord.”

According to him, “I began to announce that Covenant University is coming on as a new generation Harvard before it began. “Nonsense! Harvard for where?” Many have lost their jobs perhaps for doing so. We are in highly prophetic days. I said many years ago in Kaduna that a time is coming when a president of this nation will stand on this altar and say “Praise the Lord”.

One of my very close ones in the choir was there in that meeting and when she saw a president come here and say “Praise the Lord. She was virtually in tears. We are in very strange days.”
