Edozie Njoku, the former National Chairman of the All Progressives Grand Alliance (APGA), has left the party.
After a national convention on Friday in Abuja, Edozie Njoku was also elected National Chairman of the National Rescue Mission, or NRM.
Isaac Chigozie Udeh resigned as National Chairman of the NRM during the meeting, and the former APGA chieftain took over as the new National Chairman.
Chigozie resigned in order to serve as the party’s National Organising Secretary.
According to ZINGTIE, Njoku accepted defeat and promised to abide by the ruling designating Sylvester Ezeokenwa as the party’s national chairman.
This came when the party’s Ezeokenwa, Victor Oye-led faction, supported by Chukwuma Soludo, the governor of Anambra State, was acknowledged by the Supreme Court.
Speaking to the media following his election as the National Chairman of the NRM, Edozie promised to lead the party to victory in the general election in 2027.
He stated, “We have now gotten a bigger platform, a national platform, to be able to express ourselves and all that victory, that big grammar we’ve been speaking, let us start seeing it happen as a political party.
“Most people in Nigeria know what we went through in APGA and then, we thank God.”
Regarding Chigozie taking a backseat for him: I feel incredibly humbled. Today, I witnessed something that I never thought would occur in Nigeria.
“And every day we learn. I never believed it existed in the dictionary of my dear country, which is selflessness, and it will be so degrading, it will be so unfortunate if I do not mention it.”
