In March 2025, the Tesla Model Y became the top-selling electric vehicle in both China and Norway.

Elon Musk, Tesla’s billionaire owner, confirmed this achievement in a post on X on Wednesday.

According to data on the updated Model Y, it sold 43,370 units in March 2025, making it the best-selling battery electric vehicle in China.

Musk shared a brief statement on X, saying, “Tesla Model Y is #1 in China.”

In Norway, the Model Y also saw strong sales, with 1,819 units sold in March alone. Additionally, data showed that 2,792 units of the Model X were sold during the first quarter of 2025.

Earlier, Musk had remarked, “Tesla actually literally makes the best-selling car on Earth of any kind. That’s two years in a row.”

This success comes at a time when Tesla vehicles, dealerships, storage lots, and charging stations in parts of the U.S. have faced a rise in attacks. In response, the Federal Bureau of Investigation (FBI) has launched a task force to address these incidents.
