Rio Ngumoha has been praised by Liverpool legend Robbie Fowler for his bravery after the Reds defeated Accrington Stanley 4-0 in the FA Cup third round on Saturday.
Nguhoma, who joined Liverpool from Chelsea’s youth during the summer, was excellent when the team won the FA Cup in the third round at Anfield.
Arne Slot promptly invited him up to train with the first team at the beginning of November after he demonstrated good play in the feeder squad.
Ngumoha started down the left wing in his first full-length senior team appearance against Accrington Stanley.
At 16 years, 4 months, and 13 days, the young player became the youngest Redd player to play in the FA Cup.
When it came to taking a player on with the ball, Nguhoma never hesitated.
Fowler told ITV, “This is the first time I’ve seen him in the flesh. It is refreshing, you get a young kid and he’s not afraid to want the ball in tight situations and he’s not afraid to go at players, which is very different in the modern game.
“He’s got the confidence to run at players whether it’s one or two.”
According to reports, the young player made three dribbles from seven (accuracy of 43 percent) and completed 16 passes out of an attempted 18 with an accuracy of 89 percent.
In the 72nd minute, he was substituted out, and Jayden Danns scored the third goal for the Reds.
