A devastating incident has unfolded in Lagos, Nigeria, where a 16-year-old boy has allegedly been sexually assaulted by a prominent hotelier in Bucknor, Isheri Oshun. The boy’s father, Edozie Christian, a spare parts salesman at Ladipo market, is seeking justice for his son.

The incident reportedly began last Christmas when the boy confided in his mother about the alleged assault. The mother initially kept the conversation confidential but became alarmed when the boy revealed that he and four of his classmates had been lured to the hotel by the owner, who then sexually assaulted them and threatened to kill them if they spoke out.

The boy’s behavior became increasingly erratic after the incident, prompting his parents to take him to the Isheri Osun police station. There, he provided a statement and named his classmates who had accompanied him to the hotel. However, his condition deteriorated after testifying, and he began acting irrationally.

One of the classmates he named corroborated his story, providing a detailed account of the alleged assault. The student claimed that the hotelier had lured them to the hotel under the guise of a TikTok program, promising to pay them N5,000. Instead, he allegedly sexually assaulted them and threatened to harm them if they spoke out.

The boy’s father took him to the Mirabel Centre at the General Hospital in Ikeja, Lagos, where he was examined by medical professionals. The doctors confirmed that the boy showed symptoms of sexual assault but found no physical harm to his brain. They suggested that he might be experiencing post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD) and recommended that he be taken to a mental health facility for further evaluation.

Despite receiving treatment and medication, the boy’s condition continues to deteriorate. The hotel owner’s lawyer has since contacted the family, and the police have transferred the case to Zone 2, Onikan, Lagos.

The father has expressed frustration with the police handling of the case, alleging that they are not taking adequate action to bring the hotel owner to justice. He has since reported the incident to the Assistant Inspector General of Police (AIG) at Zone 2, who has ordered the detention of the hotel owner and an investigation into the allegations.

The case is ongoing, with the hotel owner currently in detention. The AIG has confirmed that the investigation is still in progress.
