For defeating Fluminense on Friday to win the 2023 FIFA Club World Cup, Manchester City will receive a $5 million payout from the Federation of International Football Association (FIFA).
According to AS, FIFA will also give Fluminense $4 million for losing to Man City in the Club World Cup final and Al Ahly $2.5 million for earning the bronze medal in the third-place match.
At King Abdullah Sports City in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia, on Friday night, Man City overcame Fluminense 4-0 to win their first FIFA Club World Cup.
For Pep Guardiola’s team against Fluminense, the goals came from Phil Foden and Julián Álvarez.
In the meantime, earlier on Friday, Egyptian team Al Ahly overcame Urawa Red Diamonds of Japan 4-2 in the third-place match.
The African team’s victory over Urawa Red Diamonds will earn them $2.5 million.
