As he continues to fight with Federal Capital Territory (FCT) Minister Nyesom Wike, Rivers State Governor Sim Fubara has reiterated that he is not at odds with the federal government.
Yesterday, the governor gave a speech at the Aleto-Ebubu-Eteo road’s commissioning in the state’s Eleme area.
According to Fubara: “If we are fighting the Federal Government, it’s a different matter; we are talking about the Federal Government that is giving us some support, but there’s a rat in the house that is eating the bag of garri.
“So, you can imagine such a situation, but we have now set the Otapiapia to finish the rat.”
Wike and Fubara have been at odds over who will govern politics in Rivers State.
Because of the two’s disagreement, there had been defections from the state Assembly and the rise of factional Speakers in the legislative arm.
Despite the president’s involvement, Fubara had maintained that the state was overwhelmed by Wike’s administration’s debt profile.
To accomplish this, the governor promised to form a committee that would look into Wike’s administration.
