The Federal University of Technology, Minna (FUTMinna), is set to graduate 5,816 students for the 2023-2024 academic session, with 119 students earning First Class honors. 

This announcement was made by the Vice Chancellor, Prof. Faruk Adamu Kuta, during a pre-convocation briefing for the 33rd convocation ceremony and 42nd Founders Day at the university’s main campus in Gidan Kwano.

The graduation ceremony, scheduled for Saturday, February 1, 2025, will confer degrees on students who have completed their undergraduate, master’s, postgraduate diplomas, and Ph.D. programs. The breakdown of graduating students shows that 4,955 are undergraduates, 632 are master’s graduates, 105 have completed postgraduate diplomas, and 124 have earned Ph.D.s.

In addition to the academic achievements, the university has also recognized the hard work of its staff. During the period under review, 94 study fellowships were awarded, and 112 staff members were sponsored to attend workshops and conferences. As Prof. Kuta stated, “Over 74 staff have been promoted to the ranks of professor and associate professor. Also, 87 other academic staff were promoted to other ranks, while 174 senior non-teaching and 34 junior staff enjoyed promotions within the year.”

The university’s commitment to academic excellence and staff development is evident in its achievements. With a strong focus on research, innovation, and community engagement, FUTMinna continues to produce talented graduates who are equipped to make a positive impact in their chosen fields.
