The National Working Committee (NWC) of the All Progressives Congress (APC), led by Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, revealed that the party inherited an enormous N8.9 billion debt.
He revealed this information at the APC’s current National Executive Committee (NEC) meeting in Abuja.
Ganduje claims the debt was brought on by costs associated with pre-election court actions, election appeals, and legislative, gubernatorial, and presidential elections.
N8,987,874,663 is the total amount of liabilities resulting from several legal activities.
He did, however, reassure them that Prof. Abdul Kareem Kana (SAN), the party’s national legal adviser, had been making a concerted effort to lessen the financial load.
Additionally, Ganduje requested that the National Executive Committee step in and help manage the debt.
The meeting was attended by key party leaders, including President Bola Ahmed Tinubu, Vice President Kashim Shettima, Senate President Godswill Akpabio, Speaker of the House of Representatives Tajudeen Abbas, state governors, NWC members, and other prominent APC figures.
