To help the ten victims of the gas explosion that happened at Good Shepherd Catering School, Oruokeonuoha, in the Ebonyi LGA Area of the state, Chief Mrs Uzoamaka Mary-Maudline Nwifuru, the First Lady of Ebonyi, donated N2 million.

When the governor’s wife visited the victims at the Alex Ekwueme Federal University Teaching Hospital in Abakaliki, AE-FUTHA, she made a donation through her foundation, Better Health for Rural Women, Children and Internally Displaced Persons, BERWO.

Speaking during the visit, Mrs. Nwifuru stated that the two million naira donation was intended to help with their hospital care. She also pledged to pay for little Miss Anita Ahamefula’s surgery, which she needs but cannot afford.

As the young schoolgirls suffered third and fourth degree burns and are in critical condition, Mrs. Nwifuru sympathised with the victims and prayed to God for a swift recovery and the strength to continue their activities.

Following Thursday’s gas explosion event, the females, all teenagers between the ages of 13 and 19, were sent to the hospital for critical care.
