Travel creator Alma Asinobi has made history as the first African to visit all seven continents with a Nigerian passport.
The 26-year-old Nigerian attempted to set a Guinness World Record for the fastest time to visit all the continents, completing the journey in 71 hours, 26 minutes, and 25 seconds.
Asinobi took the Nigerian flag across Antarctica, North America, South America, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Australia, with Australia being her final destination.
Sharing her achievement on her Instagram story, she wrote, “Our Nigerian flag is officially the first and fastest flag to visit all 7 continents! I guess my work here is done. I can’t wait to be homeeee.”
Despite her accomplishment, Asinobi did not break the current Guinness World Record, which was set in February 2025 by Johnny Cruz Buckingham, an American Air Force veteran, who completed the challenge in 64 hours.
As previously reported, Asinobi had announced that she would undertake this journey with a Nigerian passport to raise awareness about the challenges related to passport privileges faced by Nigerians and Africans.
