The Labour Party’s National Chairman, Julius Abure, has been accused by politician Kenneth Okonkwo of being an agent of President Bola Tinubu’s government.
According to Okonkwo, Abure is a government operative who was dispatched to undermine Peter Obi, the former LP presidential candidate.
In a Saturday interview with Symfoni TV, he revealed this.
Okonkwo also denounced the leadership led by Abure for lying to Obi and misleading him.
He claimed that Obi still publicly recognized them in spite of their deception.
According to Okonkwo: “I told Obi that these people had become agents in the hands of the government to destabilise him.“
“And after saying all those things, within like 72 hours, Obi went back to Abure’s office to publicly endorse them.”
Obi recently claimed that the LP crisis was caused by the APC’s infiltration of the party.
However, the former presidential candidate was accused by LP national secretary Umar Ibrahim of deceiving Nigerians about the true reason behind the party’s crisis.
Ibrahim maintained that internal strife exists inside every Nigerian political party.
The Independent National Electoral Commission, or INEC, had acknowledged Abure in spite of the conflict and division.
Abure, Arabambi, and Nenadi Usman are vying for the National Chairmanship of LP at the moment.
