Manchester City midfielder Rodri has resumed individual training, raising hopes that he may return to action this season after suffering an ACL injury in September.
Rodri was initially expected to be sidelined for the remainder of the season following the injury sustained on September 22. However, recent footage posted on City’s social media shows the Spaniard back at the club’s training ground, where he was seen going through drills with the caption, “on the road to recovery.”
Rodri’s absence has been significantly felt by Pep Guardiola’s side. Without him, City has fallen 20 points behind Premier League leaders Liverpool and were eliminated from the Champions League by Real Madrid earlier this month.
The 2024 Ballon d’Or winner has previously stated that he aims to return in time for the Club World Cup, which kicks off for City on June 18. However, Guardiola has urged caution regarding the 28-year-old’s recovery process.
