According to reports, a Nigerian man living in the UK had his wife deported to Nigeria because she allegedly complained about him and his work often.

The man chose to process the woman’s visa so she could join him in the UK after they were married in Nigeria.

The man’s encounter was recounted on the profile of @chiomaqueencysls, a TikTok user who posts people’s real-life experiences online.

The woman’s account states that after they were married in Nigeria, the man, who works as a caretaker, sponsored his wife to come to the UK.

But when she got to the UK and saw that he lived in a shared apartment and didn’t own a car, she allegedly changed.

The wife decided to always find fault in everything the man did and reported him to her relatives back in Nigeria, saying that he purported to be someone he wasn’t.

The TikTok user quoted the man as saying: “She must see a reason to complain, to the extent that started disrespecting me, saying that she tought I had a better job, house, and cars, not knowing that I’m an ordinary carer. I remember telling her what I do even before marriage. But on getting to the UK, she changed.”

After the man told his friend about the situation, they devised a plan to deport the wife to Nigeria.

After deceiving his wife into going back to Nigeria, he went to the UK’s Home Office to have her removed as his dependent.

His words: “What she doesn’t know is that the first week she landed Nigeria, I called Home Office and requested that her name be removed from my visa. So now she can’t even come back to the UK.”

According to a UK government document, if a relationship ends, a UK citizen can request that the Home Office cancel their dependent’s visa.

The document states: “A UK settled person contacts the Home Office with information that their spouse or partner, who arrived 4 months ago with a spouse visa, has left them. As the marriage or partnership no longer exists, and the individual has outstanding permission to stay, you must consider referring the case for cancellation.”
