The Nigerian government has approved the creation of the National Paramilitary Academy.

President Bola Tinubu granted the approval during a Federal Executive Council (FEC) meeting on Monday.

Minister of Interior, Olubunmi Tunji-Ojo, shared this update with the Managing Director of the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN) on Wednesday.

The academy will offer specialized training in paramilitary operations to young Nigerians who gain admission through the Unified Tertiary Matriculation Examination (UTME).

“They will graduate as properly trained officers, ready to contribute their quota to national security, ” he said.
