The Nigerian government is working with the Inter-Party Advisory Council of Nigeria (IPAC) and the Ministry of Information and National Orientation to share with Nigerians the history of 25 years of unbroken democracy.

Yusuf Mamman Dantalle, the National Chairman of IPAC, made the announcement on Friday.

The documentary, titled Unbroken: Two and a Half Decades – A Chronicle of 25 Years of Uninterrupted Democratic Governance in Nigeria, is a video recognizing the resilience, growth, and democratic evolution of the Nigerian nation since the commencement of the Fourth Republic in 1999.

During a news conference today at the ministry’s Abuja headquarters with Mohammed Idris Malagi, Minister of Information and National Orientation, the IPAC National Chairman stressed the importance of this project in highlighting Nigeria’s democratic journey.

He emphasized how important IPAC, the ministry, and other political players are to maintaining the nation’s democracy.

“Unbroken: Two and a Half Decades will serve as a comprehensive, visually rich account of Nigeria’s uninterrupted democratic governance from 1999 to 2024,” he said.

“The documentary will cover key milestones, challenges, and successes that have defined Nigeria’s political landscape. It will explore the resilience of Nigeria’s democracy, from the peaceful transition of power to the ongoing consolidation of democratic values across the nation.

“Through compelling drama, interviews, archival footage, and expert analyses, the documentary will delve into the political, economic, and social transformations that have shaped modern Nigeria.

“The film will feature prominent Nigerian actors and political leaders, including past and present Nigerian presidents, respected policymakers, civil society leaders, and international observers. It will also highlight the important role of the electorate, the judiciary, the media, and civil society in supporting the democratic process.

“The documentary is set to offer numerous benefits to Nigeria’s democracy and international image, including: promoting democracy and good governance, among others.
