Former Anambra State governor and presidential candidate for the Labour Party Peter Obi is still travelling around northern states helping those in need during Ramadan. There have been mixed responses from Nigerians over his recent trip to Niger State, where he built a borehole in Suleja.
Shortly after he visited Nasarawa State, where he also helped the people of Lafia, Obi is now in Niger State. In all cases, he underlined his dedication to finding out about the difficulties people encounter during Ramadan and providing assistance where required.
The installation of boreholes in both states has garnered attention, since some Nigerians see it as a sincere demonstration of support and solidarity for underprivileged communities. Many applaud Obi for his efforts, considering them to be a step in the right direction toward meeting important societal demands, particularly in these trying times.
However, some believe Obi is only playing politics to win support before the 2027 elections. They contend that his sudden outburst of selfless actions in the northern states may be seen as a calculated attempt to win over voters.
