In preparation for the 2024 Olympic Games, the Nigeria Wrestling Federation (NWF) has started a training camp in Yenagoa.
According to NWF President Daniel Igali, the goal is to ensure the wrestlers compete at their best during the games.
“We have a mandate to ensure that we strive for podium finishes at the Olympics, that’s reason enough to put all machinery in place for optimum performance,” Igali stated.
Nigeria will send six athletes to the 2024 Summer Olympics in Paris, five female and one male.
Blessing Oborodudu weighs 68 kg, Odunayo Adekuoroye weighs 57 kg, Ogunsanya Christinah weighs 53 kg, Esther Kolawole weighs 62 kg, and Ashton Mutuwa weighs 125 kg.
Recall that earlier this month, before Mercy Genesis competed in the World Wrestling Olympic qualifier in Istanbul, Turkey, the Wrestling Federation also funded a two-week training for the wrestlers.
