Masoud Pezeshkian, the president of Iran, claims that his nation has never planned to assassinate Donald Trump, the Republican nominee for president of the United States.

The U.S. Justice Department accused an Iranian man in November for a purported plot to kill Trump that was allegedly ordered by Iran’s elite Revolutionary Guard Corps, as previously reported.

But before any attack could take place, law enforcement officials thwarted the purported plan.

In a similar vein, Trump suggested that Iran might have been responsible for efforts to assassinate him during the U.S. election campaign last year.
