Nyesom Wike, the minister of the Federal Capital Territory, has attacked Pastor Tonye Cole, the All Progressives Congress’s (APC) candidate for governor in the general elections of 2023.

Wike claims that Cole and he are unable to have a conversation about politics in Rivers State or Nigeria in general at the same table.

Cole, who claimed to be a member of the opposition Peoples Democratic Party, or PDP, had criticized Wike for his ties to the ruling APC. Wike should not mislead people about his political affiliation, he said, asking, “Is he APC or is he PDP? As far as we know today, he is PDP.”

Wike claimed Cole is not on par with him in Nigerian politics during his appearance on Channels Television’s Politics Today on Thursday.

“I saw the clips one [where] Pastor Tonye Cole said I’m confusing; he should continue to be confused,” he said.

“At my level of politics, we are not on the same level. Tonye Cole cannot talk about the politics of Rivers and Nigeria and say he’s going to sit down with me, he has no character.”
