Victor Osimhen, a striker for the Super Eagles, is facing charges of punching a journalist while out late in Istanbul, Turkey.

At the moment, Osimhen is on loan from Napoli to Galatasaray.

Osimhen and his friends were leaving an entertainment establishment when the event occurred.

Journalist Tolga Bozduman was among a group of reporters who attempted to photograph the Nigerian, according to Posta Newspaper.

But the situation rapidly descended into anarchy.

Bozduman said: “I filmed Osimhen at the door with three of my colleagues.

“When the flashes went off, all hell broke loose. He ran towards me, screaming. He tried to take my camera away from me, but I didn’t let him.

“The punch he threw hit me in the head. My right side still hurts. He then started swearing.

“Then he offered, ‘Destroy the footage, I’ll give you money.’ When I refused, he threatened me by saying, ‘I’ll destroy you.’”

Osimhen and Galatasaray have not yet formally responded to Bozduman’s accusations.

Osimhen is having a successful stint with the Turkish powerhouses on the field.

In 19 games across all competitions, the 26-year-old has 15 goals and six assists.
