Joe Igbokwe, a leader of the All Progressives Congress (APC), has advised presidential candidates to abandon the idea of contesting for general elections in 2027.

The rumors that Peter Obi, the Labour Party’s 2023 presidential candidate, and Atiku Abubakar, the candidate of the Peoples Democratic Party (PDP), are conspiring to remove President Bola Tinubu from office in the upcoming election.

Igbokwe posted a warning to anybody harboring presidential aspirations on his official Facebook page, suggesting that Tinubu would continue to lead Nigeria until 2031.

Igbokwe said the president needs a second term to enable him to “set the records straight.”

He wrote: “If any presidential aspirant is dreaming of winning presidential elections in 2027, I will advise that candidate to perish the thought till 2031.

“PBAT is destined to remain in the seat of power till 2031. He needs eight years to set the records straight.”
