Donald Trump, the president of the United States of America, has stated that his son, Barron Trump, is a Cristiano Ronaldo admirer.

This followed Ronaldo’s meeting with Barron on Tuesday night, when Trump honored him at a White House dinner.

Ronaldo was part of the delegation when the US leader hosted the Crown Prince of Saudi Arabia, Mohammed bin Salman, to Washington DC.

Ronaldo, captain of Saudi Pro League club Al Nassr, and his fiancee, Georgina Rodriguez, traveled to the United States.

The 40-year-old was seen wearing a black tuxedo as he took his seat alongside the world’s richest man, Elon Musk, and US Vice President JD Vance.

During his remarks at the dinner, Trump mentioned the legendary Portuguese football player by name.

According to Trump, the former Manchester United, Real Madrid and Juventus superstar had earlier been introduced to his son, who is a huge soccer enthusiast.

“This room is loaded up with the biggest leaders in the world – business, sports…” Trump said.

“My son is a big fan of Ronaldo… Barron got to meet him and I think he respects his father a little bit more now – just the fact that I introduced you. So I just want to thank you both for being here.”

Ronaldo was issued a red card during Portugal’s FIFA World Cup qualifying game against Ireland and was suspended for their triumph against Armenia on Sunday.

The victory on Sunday sealed Portugal’s spot in the 2026 World Cup to be hosted in the USA, Mexico and Canada.
