Controversial social media critic, VeryDarkMan, has accused the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) of plotting to arrest him.

In a video shared on his Instagram page, VeryDarkMan claimed that the EFCC is planning to frame him in retaliation for criticizing its chairman, Olanipekun Olukoyede.

He alleged that a well-known lawyer, along with a social media influencer, recently visited the EFCC office with clips and a photo showing him spraying money. According to VeryDarkMan, the lawyer and influencer provided this evidence in an attempt to build a case against him.

“EFCC Abuja, I heard you had two visitors today—one was an influencer, and the other a prominent lawyer. I know how I found out, but I have informants in your office. I’m the reason they came. They brought a few clips and a picture of me spraying money. They said this is an opportunity to go after VeryDarkMan,” he said.

He further accused the EFCC officer they spoke to of confirming their intentions, saying, “Yes, VeryDarkMan has been speaking out against us, criticizing our boss, and has been rude to the EFCC.” VeryDarkMan concluded by suggesting that the EFCC’s interests aligned with those visitors and that they are now conspiring against him, attempting to set him up.
