Salome Eleojo Adaidu’s lover, Maxwell Ajah, has talked candidly about his last moments with the young woman who was cruelly slain.

Maxwell disclosed that he had been dating Salome since 2018 and that their most recent chat left him feeling uneasy during a phone interview with her older sister, Patience Adaidu Unekwuojo.

Maxwell refuted the accused murderer Oluwatimileyin Ajayi’s claim that he was Salome’s boyfriend, asserting that they were in a committed relationship.

He insisted that Salome did not deserve her terrible destiny and characterised her as gentle and non-violent.

Maxwell described meeting Salome at his house on Thursday before she left, intending to see him again on Friday.

But when Maxwell failed to come home, their plans were derailed, and they decided to meet on Sunday instead. He related how, because he was ill, she had offered to come see him after church and prepare meals for him.

Maxwell contacted Salome on Saturday night when he was waiting for a haircut.

During their call, he noticed something odd about her tone.

She became irritated and accused him of not missing her before cutting the call short.

Maxwell called her again using a friend’s phone out of concern, but she seemed hurried to conclude the call and gave only brief answers.

“I wasn’t comfortable with the way she sounded. She seemed different, as if she was under duress,” Maxwell said.

Maxwell sent Salome a WhatsApp message to see how she was doing once he got home.

He claimed that her responses lacked the warmth she usually possessed and were unusually succinct.

He wished her “sweet dreams,” but she didn’t react the way she usually does.

Salome said she had unintentionally activated her mobile data in their last conversation, which Maxwell posted screenshots of.

He said how her sudden reactions caused him to feel extremely uneasy.

Salome was an innocent woman who did not deserve to be killed, according to Maxwell, who called for justice for her.

He insisted that their relationship was based on trust and denied knowing her phone password or having any suspicions of infidelity.
