A 22-year-old Nigerian lady describes how she met a 36-year-old guy through a friend of her mother, who reacted badly when she turned down his request to come to his house two days after they first met.

Her TikTok page features a long video that shares this account.

She adds in the video that her mother just told her about a chat she had with a man who said he was looking for a woman to marry.

After giving it some thought, she asked her mother to provide the man her contact details so he could get in touch with her.

She found out his age during their first encounter at his workplace, and after dropping her off, he paid her ₦6,000.

She added that the man invited her to his place to get to know him better barely two days after they first met.

But she thought it was too soon, and she told him so.

The man replied that he needed to learn more about her, including how to cook, and that she needed to get to know him better.

She turned down the invitation in spite of his justification.

He then started accusing her of looking for a wealthy partner so that she could gain without doing anything.

Her statement:“One Sunday when I just got back from church, I received a call from my mum. My mum was telling me about how one of her friends was talking to a man who said he needed a lady and wanted to settle down.”

“I was already getting mad at my mum. I really didn’t want you to be doing things like this.”

“After a second thought, I was like, tell your friend that she can give the man my number so we can talk. We started talking, myself and the man, and he told me he was in his mid-30s. I think he said 36 going on 37.”

“I was already losing it because I’m 22, and the age gap was too much. I really didn’t want to do this, but since it’s my mum and her friend, I believed they knew what was best for me.”

“When I started talking to this man, I didn’t like how our conversation went. He’s older than me, so we’re going to disagree a lot. I was like, let me manage. I can’t continue to shut people down.”

“When I got back to Abuja, he asked me to come to his office to meet him. I said no problem, and went to his office. We started talking, then we went to get food, and he asked me what I’d like to do after service.”

“I told him everything, and he was impressed. He then told me that he recently created an application and wanted me to use my knowledge to promote it, and also that he was going to pay me.”

“He decided to drop me off, and when he did, he squeezed ₦6,000 into my hand. I wasn’t expecting him to give me anything. From the onset, he had already struck me as one of those men who like to know you before they can give you money.”

“When I got home, we started texting, and two days after, he texted me asking me to come to his house. I said, ‘Isn’t it too early for you to be inviting me to your house?’ He replied, ‘Why are you acting like you’re a baby?”

She made a number of other statements in the video, revealing that the man used derogatory words against her just because she told him she wouldn’t be going to his house since it seemed too soon.
