Baltasar Engonga, the former finance minister of Equatorial Guinea, is seen spending time with his family after he was allegedly released from prison in a social media video that has gone viral.
Earlier this year, videos that supposedly showed Engonga in uncomfortable positions with several women went viral online, sparking a massive scandal.
Widespread indignation and controversy were sparked by reports that the ladies included the wives of high-ranking government officials.
Although the specifics of his legal actions are still unknown, Engonga was reportedly arrested and held after the affair.
It looks like Engonga is having a light-hearted talk with family members in the recently shared video, which has sparked new public debate. The video has stoked rumours regarding his present legal situation, even though his release has not been formally confirmed.
Neither Engonga’s representatives nor the Equatorial Guinean authorities have yet to comment on the widely shared video or his purported release.
