Another petroleum tanker has overturned in Ibadan, the capital city of Oyo State.
The incident occurred on Sunday at approximately 11:00 a.m.
The accident took place in the Tose area of Moniya, located in the Akinyele local government area.
According to reports, the Oyo State Fire Service was immediately notified of the incident.
The General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Service, Mr. Yemi Akinyinka, confirmed the incident.
Akinyinka stated that the agency’s control room received the report at exactly 11:11 hours on Sunday.
He added that the agency promptly dispatched its team to the scene to prevent potential fire hazards resulting from petroleum spillage.
Additionally, police personnel are present to prevent the public from scooping fuel, which is illegal.
He said “On arrival all necessary action was done by blanketing the spillage with chemical compound to neutralize the flammability of the content.
“The Nigerian police are also on ground to curb the illegality of the public scooping the petrol.
“The agency’s personnel are still on standby”.
