Imo State Governor, Hope Uzodinma, has gifted N10 million each to six Super Falcons players from the state in recognition of their performance at the 2024 Women’s Africa Cup of Nations (WAFCON).
The beneficiaries include Chiamaka Nnadozie, Jennifer Echegini, Osinachi Ohale, Oluchi Oluehi, Chinwendu Ihezuo, and Michelle Alozie.
In addition, Assistant Coach Ann Chiejine also received N10 million from the governor.
Governor Uzodinma presented the cash awards during a reception held for the players at the Government House in Owerri.
The Super Falcons recently secured victory over Morocco with a 3-2 win in the WAFCON 2024 final on Sunday.
President Bola Ahmed Tinubu has also honoured the team’s achievement, granting each player $100,000, a three-bedroom home, and the national title of Officer of the Order of the Niger (OON).
