Some people in Rivers State who previously opposed Governor Siminalayi Fubara are suddenly applauding him, a move that Segun Sowunmi has criticised. According to him, these were the same individuals that attempted to dissuade former Governor Nyesom Wike from endorsing Fubara for governor by claiming he was too young and inexperienced.

Segun claimed in a widely shared video that people who first disapproved of Fubara are now behaving as though they were instrumental in his ascent. He cautioned that these people may eventually change their minds on Fubara, as they did in the past.

According to Sowunmi: “I feel extremely bitter when I see what is going on in Rivers, and I will tell you why. The same set of human beings who were saying they don’t want to see Fubara, Fubara is too young and small, and he (Wike) was fighting them to install [Fubara].”

“Do you not feel the need to vomit when it is the same people now that are carrying Fubara as if they were the ones who nurtured him in the cradle? If God gives us the opportunity to roll it forward, these same people again will come out and start telling us Fubara is bad after the act”
