Through a process known as “Khul’i,” a married lady named Amina Adamu has requested that a Shari’a court in Magajin Gari, Kaduna, terminate her marriage to Adamu Abubakar.

In order to end the marriage, the complainant informed the court on Wednesday that she was prepared to reimburse the N10,000 bride fee she had been given.

According to the News Agency of Nigeria (NAN), “khul’i,” or “redemption,” is a means of achieving freedom within a marriage.

Adamu, who was not in court at the time of the hearing, claimed that she was sick of the marriage and that she could not submit to her husband.

She replied in the yes when the judge, Malam Kabir Muhammad, enquired if she had any witnesses to attest to the bride price’s sum.

He continued by rescheduling the case for January 28 so that the complainant could call her witnesses and remind the spouse to appear in court.
