Over 1,000 residents of Ayetoro and Saala-Orile communities in Yewa, North Local Government Area of Ogun State, benefited from a free healthcare service provided by the Minister of State for Health, Dr. Kunle Salako.
The medical outreach, which featured services such as malaria treatment, hypertension, and diabetes checks, aimed to improve the wellness of residents. Dr. Salako emphasized the importance of early disease detection in preventing untimely deaths, particularly in rural areas.
“The health ministry is concerned about the general well-being of Nigerians,” Dr. Salako said. “This medical outreach is one of the moves to ensure that people know their health status.”
Dr. Olayinka Afeez, medical team lead, stressed the importance of periodic checkups, saying, “Many people overlook this.
Beneficiaries Oluwabosede Aremu and Mary Akinlolu expressed gratitude for the initiative, acknowledging its value in helping them understand their health status.
The medical mission was organized in partnership with the National Primary Health Care Development Agency, with plans to extend the outreach to other communities.
