Naira continues appreciation against US dollar to end week on good note

The Naira maintained its appreciation against the US dollar in the official foreign exchange market, concluding the week positively.

According to the Central Bank of Nigeria’s data, the Naira gained further strength on Friday, reaching N1,380.58 per dollar, an increase from the N1,383.88 that was traded on Thursday.

This indicates that the Naira strengthened by N3.3 against the dollar on a daily basis.

Weekly, the Naira appreciated by N26 against the dollar compared to the N1,353.90 noted on Wednesday, March 18, 2026.

The Naira’s value at the black market on Friday stayed at N1,420 per dollar, consistent with the rate from Thursday.

This came after a period of decline for the country’s external reserves, which fell to $49.48 on March 26.
