Ahead of the general elections in 2027, Babatunde Gbadamosi, a former contender for governor of Lagos, has strongly cautioned Nigerians.
In a dramatic speech, Gbadamosi called the upcoming election a “war” and exhorted people to get ready politically and psychologically so they might escape the shackles of repressive rule.
Using social media, Gbadamosi voiced his displeasure with the political elites’ ongoing domination, claiming that they have held Nigeria hostage for decades due to inept management, corruption, and governance.
He urged Nigerians, particularly the younger generation, to rise above political indifference and take responsibility for their own destiny.
“The 2027 election will be war. Fortify yourself enough to break the political chains holding your future down,” he declared.
Many people who believe the present political elite has fallen short of promises and reforms found resonance in his statement.
Real change, according to Gbadamosi, can only occur when people actively engage in the democratic process, hold elected officials responsible, and reject ineffective leadership.
His remarks act as a rallying cry for Nigerians to get ready to demand better governance—not via violence, but through awareness, solidarity, and resolve—when the political climate heats up.
